Folk singer Mae Krell talks translating heartbreak into art

In The Curve Magazine’s first episode of Behind the Artist, the podcast that explores your new favourite tracks and the artists behind them, we talked to indie/folk singer-songwriter Mae Krell about the b-side of her 2022 EP ‘Impostor Syndrome’, which includes the previously unreleased songs Tooth Fairy and (Like) Spring.

At only 23-year-old Krell writes hauntingly beautiful pieces confronting past-traumas, self-love and everything else that comes with a breakup. She has a distinct folk-pop sound and undeniable lyrical prowess.

During the interview we also discussed her song-writing process, previous work and collaboration with Jakob Leventhal.
