How Netflix’s ‘You’ questions the ethics of true crime media

Netflix’s ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile’ and ‘Dahmer– Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’, share a common theme. The main charecters are both serial killers and are presented as handsome and dangerously charming. It raises an important question; why are so many popular TV shows and movies romanticising real-life serial killers and where should the viewers’ sympathy truly lie?
