In the eighth episode of The Curve Magazine’s Behind the Artist, the podcast that takes a look inside your next favourite tracks and the artists behind them, we talk with Roseburg’s vocalist Zach Knell.
Taking their name from the town where they met, Roseburg, Oregon, this alternative rock band is coming back after a pandemic-caused hiatus with their newest EP “2 in a Million”. This intimate record speaks of mending broken relationships and the ability to start over, with a more organic soft indie-rock sound, compared to the previous harsher sounds from their debut album.
In our interview we discussed the juxtaposition of mixing pop music’s catchy melodies with the darker side of metal, their collaboration with Sleeping With Siren’s front-man Kellin Quinn and how setbacks from the pandemic allowed the band to grow through solo projects and life experiences, reuniting them with a stronger creative outlook.
