Trailblazing multi-instrumentalist Irish talent VJ Jaxson recently released his sophomore EP ‘Changes’ following the release of first single ‘Waiting On The Day’.
The seven-track EP is soul baring piece of work, that offers meaningful self-reflection on his desire to evolve. He has a great ability to fuse genres to create vulnerable, introspective pieces with contagious and soulful rhythms.
The EP starts with the intro “Metamorphosis,” followed by the anthemic number “Waiting On The Day” which captures Jaxson’s perseverance and relentless belief in his own potential, while inspiring others to embrace their dreams and remain focused on their future triumphs.
His influences ranging from hip hop, rock to RnB create a high-energy amalgamation of emo rap and rock.
In particular the song, “No Problem” radiates a sense of hope while narrating an unbreakable bond between two people who refuse to let obstacles stop their journey together. Introspective title track “Changes” follows, embodying the album’s core essence through candid lyricism, and delivering a message of resilience and vulnerability.
The rest of the album displays an array of emotional themes from betrayal and the dissolution of a close friendship to the necessity of open and honest communication in fostering a healthy and thriving partnership. The EP concludes with “Michigan”, a piece rooted in heartfelt lyrics paying homage to his late grandmother, capturing the universal experience of loss and intergenerational bonds.
